Transitioning from Teaching to Training
The thought of leaving the teaching profession can be a little overwhelming. You may have even asked yourself some of these questions.
- I’m not sure about my future as a teacher. What else is out there?
- I’m concerned about my earning potential. Will I be able to make more money for my family as a trainer?
- I’ve thought about becoming a corporate trainer. Where do I start?
- Can I write curriculum for corporations without a Master’s degree? (Yes.)
- What types of training jobs are available?
- But I only know how to teach. Do I have the skills to become a trainer?
- Can someone help me perform a makeover of my resume?
- What kind of resources are out there?

About Our Training Program
You have several options:
-
One on one Coaching: For $25 / an hour, we can meet you at a Starbucks, or a location we both agree on. Coaching sessions usually take 2-3 hours. We answer all your questions, go over the instructor-led manual (we provide), go over the similarities and differences between teaching and training (not many!) how you can transition over, the lingo you'll have to learn, what options are open to you, what industries hire trainers, what you can train, what kinds of traing jobs there are, what salaries are like, ideas of where to look, how to apply for jobs, making over your resume and how to interview. We do not point you in any particular direction because it is so unique to who you are and what you want to train. There are so many options out there for you. We are not recruiters and get absolutely no kickback for anything. We are just ex-teachers, who are still teachers - just with grown-ups! Call us at (281) 923-9766 or e-mail at

-
Online: With our online training you can view the training any time, any where, as often as you like from the comfort of your own home. You can download 10 printable job aids that are the equivalent of our user manual. You can purchase the training to your right. You will be e-mailed a username and password when we are notified of your purchase via Paypal.
- Instructor-Led Summer Classes: We offer a four-hour instructor-led class (with lunch included). This makes it easy to attend without eating up your entire day. We usually schedule several sessions throughout the week so it’s flexible for your busy life. We tend to hold classes in the Spring area, or through Houston or in districts where we see the greatest need. The advantage is you get to network with other teachers and you have more time in a workshop environment.
Affordable:
- Our sessions are practically at cost, which provides you with the opportunity to pick the brains of two seasoned teachers and trainers who have successfully made the transition to training and development.
Convenient:
- Our sessions are conveniently located in the Houston Metro area.
Realistic:
- All our information is timely and applicable. You will be provided with a take-home manual, a list of additional resources, and several job aids for immediate use as you interview and begin your new career.
